Chantal: A Night at the Pyramids

Chantal: A Night at the Pyramids Review

On the night of September 7, 2007, international singer/songwriter Chantal Chamandy, made history by becoming the first person ever to be granted permission to perform a taped concert at the base of The Pyramids on the Giza plateau in Egypt. The night was especially important for the Egyptian-born Chamandy, currently based in Montreal, as she returned to her birthplace to deliver a positive portrayal of middle-eastern culture. Chamandy performed alongside the Cairo Symphony Orchestra, dancers from the Egyptian National Ballet Company and Tanoura dancers in front of a capacity audience of 5,000 people. In addition, acclaimed director Gerard Pullicino (Beyonce, Madonna, Celine Dion), choreographer Genevieve Dorion-Coupal (The Beatles' "Love" by Cirque du Soleil) and set designer Guy St-Amour (also from Cirque du Soleil) added their unique style to this special performance.

Long Live The Queen

Long Live The Queen Review

The lovable Queen Of Mean is at it again...and no one is immune as Lisa takes off the gloves and delivers an unrelenting barrage of political incorrectness and 'shoot from the lip' observations. Never shy about engaging in controversy, she deftly navigates the social taboos, stereotypes, and cultural differences that even the boldest of today's comedians would rarely broach. Lisa's ability to both rile and charm her audience is what has helped her rise to the pinnacle of the comedy scene as witnessed in this performance originally taped for HBO. Cast aside any preconceptions that you may have had from seeing her appearances on the Comedy Central Roasts of Jeff Foxworthy, Pam Anderson, and Flavor Flav, or any of her Howard Stern or Jay Leno appearances. This is Lisa Lampanelli as she is meant to be seen and heard. Enter at your own risk! DVD features bonus content, including additional jokes and roast out-takes.
